Major agricultural machinery and implements manufacturer replaces SAP GRC with TTAX’s Messaging and Easy4 Inbound solutions

With a history defined by innovation and high technology, the company in question is one of the largest Brazilian multinationals in the machinery, equipment, and solutions segment for organized agriculture. Serving small to large-scale producers across dozens of countries, its manufacturing plants operate at a fast pace to supply the global demand for spraying, planting, and harvesting technologies.

Within an industrial operation of this scale, the supply chain directly relies on the speed of the tax ecosystem. Any delay in billing a harvester or in the inbound processing of metallurgical raw materials at the factory can compromise crucial delivery deadlines aligned with the farmers’ harvest windows. To manage this complexity, the company utilizes the SAP ecosystem as the heart of its corporate governance.

The Challenge

For many years, the company utilized SAP’s native tool for inbound and outbound messaging (SAP GRC NFE). However, with the increasing volume of transactions and the growing demand for greater agility and automation, the legacy solution began to present critical challenges for both the IT and Business teams:

  • High Maintenance and Support Costs: Maintaining SAP GRC required constant investment in infrastructure, complex support package updates, and highly specialized technical support.

  • Lack of Inbound Automation: The supplier tax document entry process required excessive manual intervention for reconciliation and booking, creating bottlenecks in the physical receipt of materials at the factory.

  • Rigidity in the Face of Regulatory Changes: The turnaround time to adapt the legacy system to constant SEFAZ updates demanded significant effort and created operational risks for the IT department.

IT leadership and the tax department recognized that it was time to seek a market alternative that would deliver greater efficiency, end-to-end automation, and a reduction in the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). TTAX was the chosen partner for this major technological shift.

The Solution

TTAX designed an agile and secure transition project to completely replace the client’s SAP GRC, implementing a modern tax architecture split into two fundamental workstreams:

1. New Outbound Messaging: Secured Billing

For the outbound flow, TTAX implemented its specialized Messaging solution. Connected directly to the company’s SAP environment, the solution took over the authorization of NF-e and NFS-e with tax authorities (SEFAZ and municipalities) with exceptionally high speed and stability. The flexible architecture began processing the group’s high volume of issuances with absolute security, ensuring that billing operations and truck loading occurred without friction.

2. Inbound Automation with Easy4 (DF-e Inbound)

On the goods inbound side, SAP GRC was replaced by the Easy4 for SAP Inbound solution. Easy4 radically transformed the manufacturer’s inbound tax processing routine:

  • Automatic Capture and Validation: The system now automatically captures documents (NF-e, CT-e, NFS-e) directly from SEFAZ, executing robotic recipient acknowledgment.

  • Intelligent Pre-booking: Driven by advanced business rules developed by TTAX, Easy4 automatically matches the XML file with the Purchase Order within SAP, automating tax and price verification even before the truck arrives at the factory gate.

The Result

The complete migration from SAP GRC to the TTAX ecosystem delivered immediate impacts on both the performance and the financial health of the client’s operations:

  • Cost Reduction (TCO): Replacing SAP GRC eliminated high licensing costs, dedicated servers, and complex infrastructure maintenance, significantly simplifying the company’s IT ecosystem.

  • Maximum Logistics Productivity: With Easy4, the wait time for trucks at the factory gate for invoice verification was drastically reduced. The goods inbound process became entirely digital, fast, and auditable.

  • Independence and Agility for IT: Legal updates from SEFAZ are now seamlessly absorbed by TTAX solutions, freeing the internal IT team to focus on business innovations tailored to the agribusiness sector.

  • Real-Time Compliance: The company gained full visibility over invoices issued against its corporate tax ID (CNPJ), shielding operations against tax fraud and ensuring strict compliance across state, federal, and municipal levels.
